About Us

OTTOMAN SILVER COLLECTION

This collection is created in Turkey and by some of the best Filigree Artists in the world. We have been supplying jewelry to some of the best retail outlets including the best-known TV retailers for over 20 years. Aside from the USA, the company has sold the jewelry collection and has a strong market presence in the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, France, and Canada.
Ottoman Silver Collection designs are inspired by history and nature. The Ottoman Empire that lends its name to our collection inherited the cultural riches of the Roman and Byzantine Empires. In this part of the world, they have been making jewelry for 8 millennia. It was home to jewelers of Assyrian, Armenian, Greek, Persian, Arabic, and Turkish heritage.
History and nature-inspired styling are updated to keep up with the changing preferences of the modern woman.
In addition to filigree, we have rose gold-plated silver jewelry with Cubic Zirconia and gemstones. These designs are inspired by what ladies of the Ottoman Empire wore in the Topkapi Palace.
The workmanship is state of the art. Every workshop that adds to this collection has 25 or more years of making gold and silver jewelry experience in Turkey.

ABOUT OUR FILIGREE

Filigree is the art of EMBROIDERY WITH METAL THREAD (cutting, twisting, shaping, and soldering metal threads to make jewelry). Different gauge metal wire is twisted and made into a frame, and this frame is later on filled with another thinner twisted, shaped metal threads to design the form. It is very similar to lace embroidery. Instead of knotting the thread, here, the metal threads are soldered.
Turkish Filigree is full of flowers, branches, birds, and insects. Anything that is in nature. And historic symbols of the Roman Empire, the Byzantine, and the Ottomans.
Ottoman Silver Collection is based on the Byzantine and Ottoman design where these two distinct cultures molded into one. Istanbul was the capital of the Byzantine Empire, and it was chosen for its strategic location between the trade routes of Europe and Asia. The cultural aesthetics and design of the Ottoman Silver Collection carry features of Romano-Hellenistic traditions. Our filigree is influenced from The Assyrian Tradition, and Assyrian Telkari (Filigree) Artists in Mesopotamia; specifically Mardin and Midyat of Southern Turkey.
The archaeologists believe that the sophisticated design of jewelry was discovered when extractive metallurgy developed in ancient Turkey. The Ottoman Silver Collection’s elegance is resulted from being first in the jewelry making in the world. Turkey was a center of production and luxury goods and literacy, as Anatolia was part of the Silk Road. Byzantine jewelry styles are part of the distinctive jewelry techniques, such that gems are polished and set within the Gold wire that was used for pendants, bracelets, and earrings.
Unlike other Renaissance and antique western jewelry, the Ottoman empire had a different jewelry style. Jewelry created in Europe was highly symmetrical with faceted gemstones, yet the Ottomans valued the original shape and natural contours of a gemstone and the pieces had a rougher, but still beautiful, look to them. Plus, gemstones were chosen for their medicinal and spiritual purposes rather than their alluring look. For example, Emeralds were worn for their wisdom, and Diamonds were displayed as accompanying gemstones, rather than the central piece, for their ability to enhance another gem’s powers. The Ottoman Empire was the center of jewelry making, and most jewelers moved to Constantinople to train in jewelry making.
